Don't Let the Screen Door Hit You

Screen Tight at Lowe's: 30" Vinyl Screen Door

Hemmed and hawed over a new screen door for the front. Didn't want one of those full-glass monstrosities like we had before. I WANTED one like this, but they were so expensive. Noticed a clearance at a local store and on a whim, went over to see if they had anything CLOSE to this kind of scrollwork that I could live with. The remodeling gods were smiling on me that day! To get what I want AND have it on sale??? It is already on our newly painted front door. I couldn't wait!

Out Front

Here is a great-looking front porch with just a small amount of space to work with... I think I would still want square posts so we could put the gingerbread Texas stars in the corners.

Trying to figure out how to get a mural of this on the barn wall or fence in the back yard -- and use it to hang a REAL pitchfork on!

Dream House

Saw this house in Smithville Texas after a soccer game. I decided to back up on the street and pull out the digital camera (since I was at a sports event - of COURSE I had a camera!) It is EXACTLY what I want my house to look like. White clapboard siding, green door & shutters, porch, railing (and if you look closely you can see little Texas stars inside the trim at the top of each porch post. Even a tin roof and picket fence.
