Stopping Place - Living Room Ideas

I think we can trade our white chenille couch and chair in storage for the ones in the suite right now.
There is a train-cart coffee table with a glass top that can be moved to the other upstairs room and replace it with either a table we want to keep in there or the antique military locker box that we have.  This would give us extra storage - OR we could use the blanket chest that is in the bedroom and put our hope chest in the bedroom instead.

We have already moved the fireplace in (see Fired Up for Christmasand I will have to get pics online soon so that I can start coming up with decor to go with it.

I also think that we can swap the table and chairs in there for our little fold-down table and shabby chic chairs. (See Dining Room 2016)

We might even move it to the wall next to the door and put the possum belly hutch from downstairs OR our white hoosier cabinet (See What's White and Won't Fit on the Back of a Motorcycle? ) or one of the dining hutches (after I repaint it of course) in place of the curio that is up there and give us a little kitehenette area that has a microwave and dorm fridge and coffee pot.  These things are down in the office right now, so I am not sure if it would be a good idea or not.... this is probably a "live in it" for a while kind of decision.

I am also thinking of replacing the draperies with some tan muslin or canvas panels -- there are some white lace curtains already in the windows, so this would not be too much of a difference, and since the drapes are on rings across a wooden rod at each window, it would be easy to change out. This would also help hide some of the floral wallpaper along the walls and minimize the clash.

If I want to go even further, I could replace the rug with a sisal rug or the green rug at the patio (or maybe put it in the bathroom?)

The lamps in this room are glass and brass, so they are a bit dressy but still neutral enough I could work around then for a while.  We have some lamps in storage that I may have to take a look at if I need to.  The artwork is just a portrait of Stephen F Austin and 2 bird prints -- I might leave the portrait, but I definitely want to store the other and put up some more personal artwork or wall hangings.  A lot of the knickknacks are in the curio right now because Sistercat and Donny keep jumping on the tables and knocking stuff off.  I will leave them in the curio until I figure out my final furniture placement.
